ALASKA EXPLORER VIA GLACIER BAY – MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY CRUISE – Holland America Cruise Line – “ms Westerdam” Cruise Ship – Cruise Sails on May 24, 2009 to May 31, 2009. Depart from Seattle, Washington for Scenic
Cruising Glacier Bay National Park – no one shows you the Glacier Bay like
Holland America, with more visits than any other cruise line. Witness a world still emerging from the Ice
Age – 16 tidewater glaciers in action.
Juneau, Alaska; Sitka, Alaska; Ketchikan, Alaska and Victoria, British
Columbia and back to Seattle, Washington.
Cruise is Discounted 40% OFF Per Person.
Meals and entertainment are included in the cruise price. Mother Nature
preserved by father time. Now, you can
experience Alaska as it was and as it is.
Whether it’s the century-old totem poles, the majestic coastal glaciers,
the unique glimpses of marine and forest animals, or the sparkling waterfalls,
you’ll marvel at the sterling Alaskan coastline. Alaska is home to the world’s largest bears
and salmon, the highest concentration of bald eagles and more than half the
world’s humpback whale population, this is Alaska’s frontier – the nature as it
was intended. There’s so much to see and
do. Try kayaking into the hidden
inlets. Fly above the glaciers on a
helicopter tour. Shop for art and other
native treasures. Mountain bike or hike
through rainforests. Fish forever. It’s all here in Alaska for you and it’s a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Cloistered in the rocky recesses of Alaska,
Glacier Bay is a world still emerging from the Ice Age. Sixteen dazzling tidewater glaciers creep
back and forth by millimeters, chiseling great masses of moraine onto their
pristine surfaces. Juneau is like that
of many cities in Alaska, which was tied to mining. Because it is Alaska’s capital, Juneau
prospers through government work and tourism.
This is a great place to sample salmon baked over an alderwood
fire, pan for gold, and hike the massive Juneau Icefield. If you feel the need for speed, hop on a sled
and let a dog team pull you across the surface of a glacier. Bald eagles perch in the spruce and cedar
trees of Sitka – often several to a branch.
Russian Alaska is enthusiastically represented in a lively performance
by the New Archangel Dancers. View holy
paintings of the Czarist days, visit recuperating eagles at the rehabilitation
center and hear the amazing story of the Cathedral fire and Sitka’s mad flurry
to save the church’s icons and religious treasures. Ketchikan’s 19th Century
commercial fishing, canning and logging industries drew hearty workers who
added raucous side to the city’s history.
High tea can be taken at the Empress Hotel if you really want to
discover what Victoria, British Columbia is all about. Then, walk over to the breathtaking Museum of
Natural History or stroll through the charming downtown of that lives up to its
British-flavored name with double-decker buses, turreted castles, fine British
woolens and delicate china. A coach-ride

scents. The “ms

Vast and lush, teeming with wildlife and carved by nature, it is an
artist’s and poet’s paradise. Mother
Nature preserved by father time. Now,
you can experience Alaska as it was and as it is. Whether it’s the century-old totem poles, the
majestic coastal glaciers, the unique glimpses of marine and forest animals, or
the sparkling waterfalls, you’ll marvel at the sterling Alaskan coastline. Alaska is home to the world’s largest bears
and salmon, the highest concentration of bald eagles and more than half the
world’s humpback whale population, this is Alaska’s frontier – the nature as it
was intended. There’s so much to see and
do. Try kayaking into the hidden inlets. Fly above the glaciers on a helicopter
tour. Shop for art and other native treasures. Mountain bike or hike through
rainforests. Fish forever. It’s all here in Alaska for you and it’s a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. In the Inside Passage, don’t even bother

eagles on beaches and in coves on shore moose, deer and bears forage for food. Relax and enjoy. Juneau, Alaska is only accessible by water

you can experience Alaska as it was and as it is.
There’s so much to see and

inlets. Fly above the glaciers on a
helicopter tour. Shop for art and other
native treasures. Mountain bike or hike through
rainforests. Fish forever. It’s all here in Alaska for you and it’s a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. In the Inside Passage, don’t even bother

Highway. The calm, protected waters are
filled with sea lions, sea otters and migrating whales, the sky with soaring
eagles on beaches and in coves on shore moose, deer and bears forage for
food. Relax and enjoy. Juneau, Alaska is only accessible by water
and air so its not surprising that wildlife thrives in
Juneau’s stunning frontier landscape. In
fact, it’s the only capital whose governor’s mansion sits less than one mile
from prime grizzly bear habitat. It all
started in 1896 when gold was discovered in a tributary of the Klondike River
and tiny Skagway quickly grew to 20,000 residents. By 1900, the White Pass and Yukon Route
Railway began carrying the more fortunate gold seekers over the mountain
pass. The real gold, some say, never
left Skagway. Ketchikan’s 19th
Century commercial fishing, canning and logging industries drew hearty workers
who added raucous side to the city’s history.

admiral, Sir George Somers, whose shipwreck in 1609 near the site of St. George
may have inspired Shakespeare to write The Tempest. Little St. George’s Island went on to become
the thriving capital of the new British colony of Bermuda. Today it is no longer the capital. That’s just as well, since it has managed to
retain the charming look and feel of Elizabethan, England. There are narrow, winding streets, lined with
quaint old homes and walled garden, which are tailor-made for exploring on
foot. Although a few shipwrecked
Spaniards landed in Bermuda in the 16th Century, they didn’t stay
long. They named the group of islands
for Juan de Bermudez, a Spanish sea captain, but because of the treacherous
coral reefs it was more commonly called Islas Demonios
(Islands of Devils). The first British
castaways came ashore on St. George Island during a storm in 1609. There are many Shore Excursions for you to
take such as the “Scenic St. George” in which you will see all the
highlights of St. George Island, including Fort St. Catherine and Fort
William. On adjacent St. David Island,
you’ll discover the charm of this unique and enchanting place and enjoy
imposing views of the Atlantic from St. David’s Lighthouse. The “Bermuda Island Tour” takes covers
the entire length of the island and includes a view of Bermuda’s famous pink sand
beaches stretching impressively along the Southern Shore. You’ll stop at another famous landmark, Gibb’s Hill Lighthouse and continue to the West
End, across the smallest drawbridge in the world and into the Dockyard
area. On the way back your’ll enjoy the North Shore of
the Island. There is the “Crystal
Caves & Hamilton” where you will see where Madeline & Herbert Scott
began making perfume in 1939. You will
also stop at the Bermuda Glass Blowing Studio where you can watch the ancient
art of glass blowing. Next you’ll visit
the majestic Crystal Caves for a walk about 80 feet below the surface, past
glistening stalactites and stalagmites.
This lost world was discovered accidentally in 1907 by two boys
searching for a lost ball. The “Kayak
Safari” puts you in a unique position to explore the ecology of this island
paradise with a skilled naturalist guide up close, safely and comfortably from
a kayak. You’ll paddle silently along
lagoons and beach areas of the inner coral reef, spotting egrets, blue herons
and Bermuda Longtails as well as other interesting
species of birds and fish. After
kayaking, you can enjoy a swim and a refreshing beverage. “Diaspora Heritage Trail” in which you
watch history come to life while exploring Bermudian
American and African American proud and captivating landmarks. “St. George’s Candlelight Walking Tour”
in which you join the enchanting walk in St. George 17th Century
twilight. Enjoy old stories from the
Town Crier of pirates, rogues and local folklore while taking advantage of the
comfortable evening temperature. “Swim
Escape” lets your sense of adventure guide you while you swimming or

This coastal town has experienced a recent revitalization, making it one
of America’s newest beach resorts.
Better than the beautifully restored Victorian architecture of its
historic downtown district, is the southern hospitality of Galveston’s
residents. Long before Cozumel became a
popular destination, Cozumel was well-known as a diving spot and home to the
world famous Palancar Reef, which gives divers the
opportunity to view thousands of brilliantly colored fish. Non-divers can kick back on a sun-drenched
beach, or enjoy any number of seaside activities, such as shopping in colorful
marketplaces or dining in an open-air café.

scenery. Palancar
Reef is full of sea caves and canyons, which are home to countless varieties of
brightly colored fish. Snorkeling here
also provides guests with a look into the magical world beneath the Caribbean’s
surface. A seaside retreat located just 40 kilometers north of Merida along the
Gulf Coast of Mexico, Progreso is quickly becoming an
important gateway for cruise ship guests.
Founded in 1872 by Juan Miguel Castro and heavily influenced by the
Mayan culture, Progreso enjoys a very simple and
relaxed lifestyle. Its white-sand
beaches, emerald green waters and cooling gulf breezes are a natural draw for
vacationers from all over the world. “Ecstasy” Cruise Ship has two Pool Decks
